How often do you bathe?

This question may seem peculiar but it's vital to a person's overall happiness and  wellness. Personally, I feel that a weekly bath is the minimum requirement to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Though many people opt out for showering, soaking one's muscles, skin, and gender specific areas can have amazing benefits.

Shower VS Bath

Which do you prefer: a shower or a bath?

  • Shower

  • Bath

Shower

  • Showers are great for daily cleansing and exfoliating.

  • The steam produced from the shower can help to detox the lungs.

  • All of a person's dirt drains immediately

Bath

  • Baths are great for deep cleaning, detoxing, and muscle relief.

  • Soaking is a form of hydrotherapy

  • Water and essential oils can penetrate the pours more deeply.

  • Bathing can act as a douche

What to use

Taking a bath can be simple or you can change elements, such as water temperature, or you can add ingredients to enhance the experience.

Temperature

Though the hot water may seem like an obvious choice for a bath, soaking in cold water can help to prevent soreness from muscle exhaustion, bruising, and can help destroy fat cells. Hot water is still king because it not only relaxes the muscles but it stimulates blood-flow and improve circulation. It can reduce inflammation, increase joint mobility, and prevent muscles tightness. Hot water is much more relaxing and comfortable; it's also better at opening the pours for deep cleaning. My recommendation is to take a hot bath at least once or twice a week; shower daily and take a cold plunge after, three times a week.

Ingredients

Bath Salt - Salt is great for muscle relaxation, loosing tension, and clearing the skin of impurities

Essential Oils - Essential oils are great for stimulation, blood flow, aroma therapy, moisturizing the skin, and detoxing the pours

Milk - moisturizes and helps to separate dead epithelial tissue from the outer surfaces of the skin

Oatmeal - tightens and moisturizes the skin

Rice - tightens and moisturizes the skin
